I look forward to our next voyage through time and space. Christopher Columbus made more than one voyage to the New World.

Because Columbus landing started the colonization of the Americas.
yes. spain wanted more land so they financed Christopher Columbus' voyage so they could get it.
During his voyage, Columbus was particularly interested in finding a westward route to Asia, seeking a more direct path to the lucrative spice trade. He was also fascinated by the prospect of discovering new lands and riches, which he believed would enhance his status and fortune. Additionally, Columbus was driven by a desire to spread Christianity, viewing his exploration as an opportunity to convert indigenous peoples. His encounters with the diverse cultures and landscapes of the New World also sparked his curiosity and ambition.
Columbus left Cadiz, Spain, on September 24, 1493 to find new territories, with 17 ships carrying supplies, and about 1,200 men to colonize the region. On October 13, the ships left the Canary Islands as they had on the first voyage, following a more southerly course. On November 3, 1493, Columbus sighted a rugged island that he named Dominica (Latin for Sunday); later that day, he landed at Marie-Galante which he named Santa Maria la Galante.2nd and 3rd voyage was made in 1498 he also had 17 ships 2nd voyage 3rd 4 ships
to make a new discovery and prove that the earth was not flat and more to it
Because Columbus landing began the colonization of the Americas.Answer:History doesn't aim to be fair - as an example Thomas Edison is usually credited with inventing the electric light but in reality only improved on an existing patent. In the case of Columbus/Erikson, the North American Continent was known before Columbus set out and he may have purchased maps used and prepare d by Portuguese fishermen to make his voyage, He however reached an area which had significant wealth and represented a major European power which eventually exploited his findings. Erikson on the other hand was an independent explorer who reached rather desolate and poor areas useful only for whaling and fish. No followup was provided to his findings. This lead to most later colonozation and tracing back of successful North and SOuth American exploration to the Columbus expeditions.Public relations should not be excluded from the considerations. Columbus' voyages were reporte more thoroughly than Erikson's.
Christopher Columbus was on a voyage to find a shorter route to Asia for the purpose of trade. Europeans were traveling to Asia by sailing around the southern tip of Africa or overland through Arabia. If he had been successful, it would have allowed Spain to enter into the spice trade with the east, but he seriously underestimated the circumference of the earth.
