Dally wanted to die and he was using the store owner and the cops to help him achieve that. So that is why he pulled his gun out even though he knew that there was no bullets inside the chamber

∙ 11y agoHe robbed a grocery store and he had a gun. He made a statement you're never going to get me alive. He looked like he was going to shoot the cops. Ponyboy, Sodapop, Darrel, Two-bit and Steve were running to hide him but it was too late Dallas was shot.
