The alliances helped cause world war 1 because when Franz Ferdinand the Archduke of Austria-Hungary was assassinated along with his wife it caused Austria-Hungary to declare war on Serbia. This was what set off the alliances and all hell broke loose. Russia immediately jumped in to protect Serbia who they had an alliance with. Then Germany came in to protect Austria-Hungary and declared war first on Serbia but also on Russia and France. But to get to France it would need to go through Belgium and France and Britain declared war on Germany. The alliances were called the triple alliance and the triple entente. The triple alliance consisted of Germany, Austria and Italy. The triple entente included Britain, France and Russia.

the alliance systems are one of the main causes that the war spread to so many countries. the war was originally between Austria-Hungary and Serbia. But, Russia was allied with Serbia so they began mobilizing for war. Germany was allied with Austria-Hungary so they declared war on Russia. Germany later declared war on France. To get to France, Germany went through Belgium. Belgium was allied with Britain so Britain declared war on Germany. this continued until many more countries became involved.
Germany is often blamed for World War I due to its aggressive militarism and expansionist policies, exemplified by its support for Austria-Hungary against Serbia, which escalated the conflict. The country's pursuit of the Schlieffen Plan, which aimed for a quick victory through invading Belgium, further intensified tensions. Additionally, Germany's alliance with Austria-Hungary and its failure to cooperate diplomatically contributed to the outbreak of war, as it encouraged other nations to take sides, leading to a larger conflict.
Germany was officially found solely responsible for WWI according to the Treaty of Versailles. However, there are a serious of events that led to WWI. Who caused it is open to interpretation. Archduke Francis Ferdinand, in line to the throne of Austia-Hungary, was assassinated by a Serbian nationalist while he was in the Balkans. The Balkans, including Serbia, were controlled by Austria-Hungary, and angered them. They gave Serbia an ultimatum with numerous demands. Serbia agreed, but Austria-Hungary declared war anyway. Since Austria-Hungary was in an alliance with Germany and Italy, they also indirectly declared war as well. Russia, who was like Serbia's big brother, got upset and mobilized their troops on their border, waiting to come to Serbia's aide. However, Russia shared a border with Germany. Germany felt threatened by this and declared war on Russia. But Russia too was also in an alliance with France and Great Britain. While all of these countries had colonies all over the world, thus how it became a world war. A reason for why the Allied Powers found Germany responsible is because they made the first battle move..... By surprise-attacking France. They went through a neutral country, Belgium, to do it; murdering and killing innocent Belgians in the process. Austria-Hungary was the first to officially declare war, though it was on a country that wasn't in an alliance. Germany was the first to declare war on a country that was in an alliance. It's open to interpretation on who started the war.
Japan was stopped in an attempt to isolate Hawaii to the east.
Spain Spain? Intriguing - I would have thought an alliance with Mussolini, Italy's leader.
France and Germany became enemies through alliance pacts. Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia, the Russian empire went to the aid of the Serbians. While Germany and Austria-Hungary had an alliance, this led to Germany defending the north eastern flank of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. However, confusion between the two powers led that Germany also invaded France through Belgium since both France and Russia where allies.
Britain was afraid of the rising threat of German Imperialism after the development of the Triple Alliance.
Originally it sided with Germany and Austria when they looked like they had the upper hand. As soon as Germany took major loses in the Eastern and Western fronts it quickly switched sides to the allies. It's more in depth than that but that's what basically happened. Think it was due to the fact that Mussolini had been thrown from power and a new government had replaced him.
When Russia started fighting against Germany, Russia's allies (Norway,Austro-Hungarian and England all stepped in to help one by one. Then Russia's allies (America and Switzerland stepped in, leading to the GREAT WAR.
The motto of Blue Alliance is 'Man's flight through life is sustained by the power of his knowledge'.
Russia entered World War 1 through an alliance with Austria. World War 1 caused much distress with Russia's people. Many weapons came to the hands of peasants. World War 1 was a main contribution to starting the Russian Revolution. The alliance was not with Austria. Russia fought Austria. The alliance was with France against Germany.
To gain power and to allow Germany to attempt to become a world power through horrific acts and blamed scapegoats.
The major European nations, or Great Powers, were searching for alliances from 1870 until 1914. This was to assure national safety as well as expanding a nation's power. It started with the Three Emperors' League (Germany, Russia, and Austria-Hungary), 1873. Then came the Dual Alliance (Germany and Austria-Hungary), 1879. Then came the Triple Alliance (Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy), 1882. Then came the Franco-Russian Alliance (Russia and France), 1892. Then came the secret Franco-Italian Alliance (France and Italy), 1902. Then came the Triple Entente (Russia, France, and Great Britain), 1907. All these alliances lead to the escalation of World War I.
In WWI both sides tried to break through lines by killing enough soldiers and destroying enough resources to force a surrender.
One of the causes of World War One is the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand. Another cause is when Germany was on their way to fight France, they cut through Belgium. Belgium had an alliance with Great Britain, who then declared war on Germany.
