The German pilots lacked in training and experiance. Also they lacked tactics and hant an effective strategy.

On top of that, the British spitfires were the most manouvreable aircraft in the world (at the time) and had much more effective cannons/guns.

And they were fast and acrobatic, far superior to any other German Aircraft.
