Why does God allow people to suffer?
When the original people sinned in the Garden of Eden, God made them leave, and at the same time gave them and all people free will. No longer would people be under God's protection as they were in the Garden. Suffering is a result of people having that free will.

People choose to believe in God because people want to have somebody to back them up always no matter what happens. They choose to believe in god because they want to be excepted and god will never unexcept them.
