What Henry did do, whether he did it intentially or not is a debatable point, but Henry's fall out with the Bishop of Rome, for whatever reason failed to get the English Catholics an invite to the robber council of Trent and preserved them from joining the new Holy Roman Church and becoming a catholic sect!
