Her exact reasons for writing under the pseudonym are unknown, but it has something to do with not being under pressure. The Harry Potter books were so popular that any book released with her name would be heavily critiqued and, not matter how many differences there were, compared to her previous work.
Perhaps she just wanted to enjoying writing without the pressure of being J.K. Rowling.
