Why did Japan try to take over all the countries?

Japan wanted to be the largest Asian empire. They wanted to expand out to china Vietnam, laos and Cambodia and eventually meet up with Germany. Germany did not make it because of the fact that russia was too big and that's where they fell.

The Japanese sought after Eastern Asia for many differnet reasons. First, they beleived that their time for Imperialism had come and wanted to stretch their borders as far as they could. Second, they had just entered their own industial revolution and needed fossil fuels to run their newly built factories and supply their military. Third, China and Japan had already been at war and have been at each other's throats for a very long time, as England and France were during the 14th and 15th centuries. And finally, Japan saw that the Eastern Asain provinces in Indochina and China itself were too weak to defend themselves from an attack by the Japanese.
