Because it was an important question to Jewish culture during his time and it was trying to address the subject in a way his people might understand what was truly important versus the "law" or Torah.
The bronze serpent was looked upon for healing from sin. Jesus was made sin for transgressions and is looked upon also for our healing. (looked upon in this usage means to accept him and the sacrifice he made on the cross.) Our healing, and delivernace is in the blood that was shed on the cross.
Jesus was free of sin. He did not have sin nature. He was the son of God
You have to acknowledge your sin, repent and ask for forgiveness then accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

No, Jesus is the Son of God/God and is sinless. He hates all sin, but will forgive sin when a person repents of their sin and accepts Jesus Christ as Savior
Jesus Christ loved you before you even spoke your first word, or before you were born! When you give your life to Christ, there is hope for you. :) All you have to ask Jesus is to come into your life. Even if you sin he still loves you. Just ask him for forgiveness. He knows you might goof up. Sin to him is all the same, from lying to murder, he says its all the same. there is no worst or mild sin. There is just sin. But he will never stop loving you :)
That is not necessary to do to be healed. It takes faith, prayer and sometimes even fasting. If one has unconfessed sin in her or his life it is best to confess sin and then ask God for the healing. Many churches lay hands on the person who wants to be healed and pray for the person. This is a scriptural thing to do. The business of throwing yourself on the floor shaking and laughing is usually something a certain denomination will do but is not a scriptural requirement to healing. When Jesus was traveling around Israel a women had tremendous faith He could heal her. She did not want to disturb him. She had enough faith that she believed she could be healed just by touching Jesus and she was healed. That is how faith in healing works...believe with your whole hearts.
