First of all, God is just. And people are all guilty of sin. And like a judge, by whom justice is served, God declared all humanity guilty. And instead of having God pour out His wrath on humanity as we deserved, Jesus paid the price. He came to earth and died so that God could forgive people of their sins. And so now people have a chance to repent and follow God.
