According to ancient writings found about 10 years ago, it appears that Judas was Jesus' best friend. He was the only one of the disciples that Jesus could trust to betray Him to the Romans. Judas knew when he agreed to betray Jesus that it would ruin and most likely end his own life. That would be a great friend, all right!

Another Answer:

The inference from Scripture would suggest the Apostle John was the closest to Christ. Jesus indicates to Peter that only John will live out his life fully as God's work would be finalized in John's writings. Reading the 5 writings of John shows a deep knowledge of the God Family that no other writing seems to reflect.

All other writings of Judas or whoever are not Scriptural, therefore uninspired by God and just the interpretations/imaginations of men.

Why was Judas given Jesus secret by Jesus?

Because Jesus is compassionate and merciful and not willing that any should perish. His ways are not our ways. Jesus did not give Judas any 'secrets.' Jesus said that he spoke nothing in secret (John 18:20). This question is based on the false gnostic 'gospel' of Judas, which is false, because it was written at least a century after Judas committed suicide, & it teaches a false God, false Christ, & false plan of salvation. It also teaches that the soul is good, but that all matter is evil, despite the fact that Jesus was not only 100% God, but also 100% human, which was completely sinless - which would include his flesh, which is made up of matter.

Did Judas see the resurrected Jesus?

A:In Paul's First Epistle to the Corinthians, written long before the first of the gospels, the risen Jesus appeared to the twelve (1 Cor 15:3-8) which can only mean that for Paul, Jesus was not betrayed by Judas Iscariot. The gospel story required a traitor, and that traitor was Judas Iscariot. In the gospels, when the risen Jesus appeared to the disciples, he appeared to the eleven. It would be inconceivable that the other disciples would have kept Judas in their midst to be seen by the risen Jesus. Now, Judas did not see Jesus.
