Jesus' body (and those of the other two men who were hanged along with Him) had to be taken off the cross according to Jewish law. In Deuteronomy 21:22 & 23 it says,
22 And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree:
23 His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed of God;) that thy land be not defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.
Jesus is stripped of His garments.
13th station- Jesus is taken down from the cross.
The thief on the cross beleived in Jesus and was saved.
Jesus went before Pontius Pilate.
Jesus was taken to Roman court for trial by the Governor Pontius Pilate. As the Jews did not have the power to kill anyone on the cross, it rested entirely on the Roman Governor.
NO. As soon as Jesus was taken down from the Cross, He was taken to a tomb that Joseph Arimathea already owned. Christ was buried in that tomb.
A:In the synoptic gospels (Matthew, Mark and Luke), Jesus was tried before the Sanhedrin, or Jewish religious court, then taken to Pontius Pilate for trial before the Roman governor. The author of John's Gospel realised that the Sanhedrin would never have sat during the hours of darkness to try Jesus, so had Jesus taken to the house of Annas (John 18:13), who interrogated Jesus and then sent him to the house of his son-in-law Caiaphas (John 18:24), and then Jesus was taken to the hall of judgement to be tried by Pontius Pilate.
Jesus was on the cross, speaking to the Apostle John and entrusting him to care for his mother, Mary, as recorded in the Gospel of John.
The sundown rule, also known as the sunset provision, is a standard in law that specifies when a particular provision or law will expire. It ensures that legislation is periodically reviewed and potentially updated or renewed to remain relevant and effective.
Simon the Cyrenean was the man compelled by the Romans to carry the cross of Jesus as Jesus was taken to his crucifixion, according to all three Synoptic Gospels
I don't know where you got the idea that Jesus saves his life on the cross. Jesus dead body was taken off the cross, wrapped and treated with special scents. He was then taken to a burial cave and a large rock was rolled in front of it. Then three days later an angel came and rolled the large rock away. Jesus rose from the dead. Then Mary Magdelene came along to visit his grave. The Angel was still there. The Angel told Mary that Jesus had risen. Jesus revealed himself to 500 people before he ascended to Heaven. This is not something Christians disagree over. Read Matthew Chapters 27-28.
