Rich people are satisfied with their lives. All their needs are met through their wealth and status. So it is hard for them to see their spiritual needs.

This world and the riches of this world are nothing compared to eternity. Spiritual riches are more important because spiritual is eternal.
Also Jesus didn't come to this world to become rich and famous. He came as 'the lamb of God' to fulfill God's plan of redemption.
