Jesus taught so that His followers would know what to believe. He taught both by word and by example. He also taught in relation to specific needs people had, such as Nicodemus who came to Him by night, or the misguided teachers of His day who needed correction.

Answer

Jesus' one of the duty is to teach to sinners. There is no point teaching to righteous. God revealed all religions to change the bad to good.

----

Why would he teach righteous people if they know a lot more than sinners? Sinners usually don't know how to be righteous. They need teachings so they can have a chance to be good. Well... we're actually all sinners so I can't really say much about this.
