The law purpose of the law was to bring people to the realisation that they could not keep the law, they could not be righteous before God and were therefore dependant on God for salvation. The scribes and pharisees did not see that they had a need they thought their works were good enough to put them right with God.
Also the Pharisees thought they did keep the law and were the 'spiritual' men. But again and again in the gospels Jesus condemns them for their pious attitude.
Mat 23:5 But all their works they do to be seen by men. They make their phylacteries broad and enlarge the borders of their garments.
Mat 23:6 They love the best places at feasts, the best seats in the synagogues,
The Pharisees were the supposed experts of the Law of Moses, which were the laws that the nation of Israel were governed by, so yes, they were the lawyers of their time.
Jesus and Moses were not contemporaries, although Moses did appear with Elijah to Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration. Jesus did give respect and credibility to Moses' writings and referred to the fact that Moses spoke about Him in His writings.
No Moses is not a kin of Jesus but David is .
No Jesus is more popular then Moses anyday.
Jesus did not tell Moses to do anything, it was god who spoke to him.
Moses first lived in Egypt, Jesus lived in Nazareth..
No. Jesus is the New Testament Moses is the Old Testament
Jesus was on the hill with a few disciples and Moses and Elijah were there as well.
No he did not , Jesus died in the New testament time . Moses was in the Egyptian era and Jesus was in the Roman era.
Jesus and Moses were two different people. Jesus is the Son of God that was crucified to take the sins of the whole world. Moses was a prophet and a man who lead Israel out of captivity in Egypt.
Most early Christians didn't like the Pharisees, partially because they acted very stuck-up, like they mattered more to God and to the king than anyone else. The Christians also didn't particularly like them because the were sneaky and would try to find fault in one's every move. This is very apparent with Jesus, especially when he'd go to the temple and heal people or do work on he Sabbath, which was against the law of Moses. The Pharisees would often try to trick him or accuse him of blasphemy for claiming that God was his father. And the high priests and the Pharisees were basically the same thing.
They were the Pharisees: the Sadduccees were the liberals.
