Now, after the fact, everyone knows that Jim \jones was certifibly insane. He duped poor, semi illiterate mostly Afro Americans - some quite old - and convinced them probably through Mass hysteria that they were going to die if they remained in the US. Then he recruited a group of young, white middle class Americans and foretold them a 'dream' of paradise in the jungle. Unfortunately, many heeded his call, and initially his project in Guyana's jungle was quite successful. Then, we all know what happened - all hell broke loose and ended in the 'cool aid' trajedy. By the way I was living in Guyana at the time, so this account is accurate!!
