Marx went to France because his newspaper editorials and other writings were radically revolutionary. The repressive Prussian police and government felt he was being disruptive and wanted to stop him from continuing to stir up trouble. Marx knew eventually the government would find some way to arrest and imprison him for being subversive so he left the country and went to France.

Karl Marx went to France to escape political persecution in Germany and to engage with other socialist thinkers and activists in Paris. France was a hub for radical political thought during that time, and Marx saw it as an opportunity to further develop and promote his ideas on socialism and revolution.
