Depends which marriage you're asking about. Henry had three annulments, from his first wife Katherine. Henry had fallen in love with Anne Boleyn. Katherine would not agree to a divorce and the rest as they say is history. The second annulment was from Anne Boleyn. There are several reasons historians give why their marriage broke down; 1) Anne did not give birth to a surviving son, 2) Anne was in her thirties now, moody and sharp tongued, and Henry was falling out of love with her,3) Henry was in love with Jane Seymour,4) Henry was desperate to have a son to avoid the return of the civil wars that tore England apart before Henry's father brought them to an end. The third annulment was from Anne of Cleves. Henry was not attracted to her from their first meeting. He went through with the marriage being encouraged to do so by Thomas Cromwell, (who paid with his life for this). Anne readily agreed to an annulment.
Anne of cleaves was married to King Henry VIII , but he confessed he hadnt consummated the marriage, claiming to cromwell that, 'I liked her before not well, but now I like her much worse'. the marriage was anulled on 19 July 1540
Almost certainly, Henry VIII remained Catholic until the day he died. If he had thought it would eventually lead to a break with Rome, Henry probably woulnd't have had his marriage to Catherine of Aragon anulled.
She was Queen of England from 1509 (when she married Henry VIII) until 1533 (when Henry VIII anulled their marriage). She was Spanish princess (actually, infanta of Aragon and Castile) and Queen of England as Henry VIII's first wife.
King Henry VIII Henry the VIII, because the Pope wouldn't annul his first marriage.
Catherine of Aragon was the first wife of Henry VIII. This marriage was annulled by the king in 1533.
On 28 July 1540, at the age of 49, Henry VIII married Katherine Parr, his fifth wife. The marriage was anulled and Parr executed for treason less than two years later.

Well, as surprising as this might be, King Henry the eight was the King when he was trying to put an end to his marriage. Confusing, eh?
