the Quran was written on bits of leather and leaves in the time of the Prophet Muhammad but the people who hafised the Surahs/Ayahs as revalation came.
The Quran was then written in book form in the time of Hazrath Abu Baqar Saddiq RA and again by Hazrath Uthman.
