Phil on Live 8: "It has come to my attention that various sources have started to speculate on my involvement in "Live 8". All I can say is that I have not been asked to participate, and indeed cannot if I were asked. In fact I know nothing about it. I wholly support the principle of the event but, as I said, I have not been approached, and will not be available at that time. I am in touch with Bob G, and have narrated his own "Live Aid" special for radio. So it is absolutely nothing personal. I love him dearly. I have done numerous interviews over the last 12 months celebrating both "Band Aid" and "Live Aid", and I was very proud to have been involved with both events. So, if you see my name linked with this event, by all means support it, but don't expect me to be there singing."
