Because he fought hard for it and he knew the cost for it (many lives, including people he knew). He knew the country was based upon a system that was completely different than the political system he was used to and wanted freedom for all people who were willing to fight for it. If it goes downhill, then the things he wanted, desired, and the sacrifices that the people fought for are in vain.
no that was George Washington
George Washington would have been paid about $25,000 for his service as President of the United States. He turned this down and was paid nothing for his service.
cherry tree
he chopped down trees for a living
George Washington
he got the name because he was the first president of the united states. :)
Contrary to popular belief, George Washington did NOT chop down a cherry tree. It was actually a lie that was published by a children's author after our first president's death.
Abraham Lincoln does not have adopted children
Washington still has Naval Vessels Stationed there, some in Bremmerton, Everett and other Cities. Washington never had its own navy as it was never its own country. Now if you are talking about our first president, George Washington, no, he didn't have a Navy. No person in the United States has ever had their own personal Navy (officially). The United States does have a Navy, and has had one since it first commissioned USS Constitution on October 1st, 1797 as one of 6 frigates, two years after George Washington stepped down from being president, so no, President George Washington did not have a navy serving under him.
He didnt really want to be president. He was a farmer that became general or the army and for his great battles and reputaion, the country CHOSE him. They wanted to make him king, but he turned it down and imposed the idea of a "president."
Google the website POTUS. Go to George Washington and scroll down until to see the heading "Notable Events." There are a lot of them.
