building rockets and becoming an inventor.
Robert H. Goddard
Well, some would have it that Robt. Stevenson invented an engine that he called The Rocket. And Sinophiles would say that the Chinese had rockets hundreds of years ago. So perhaps Goddard was merely another person interested in the fun of rockets - they had already been invented. And good on him and his sense of fun, adventure and enquiry.
No, the Chinese had rockets thousands of years earlier, but they were solid fueled and unguided.
Robert H. Goddard made the first liquid fuel rocket the first solid fuel rocket was by the Chinese as early as 1000 ad
Robert H. Goddard invented the first liquid fuel rocket in 1926, it was also successfully launched on Marc 15th 1926
Robert H. Goddard was a scientist who worked on rockets. (Gives a whole new meaning to the term "rocket science"!) Goddard was known as the Father of Madern Rocketry. He built and launched the first liquid fueled rocket. Sadly, he was considered foolish because of his dream about space flight.
