I want to know why the producers killed Apollo? Sales show that they lost thousands upon thousands, maybe even millions in box office sales in the fifth installment of the Rocky franchise compared to the third or fourth. So why hurt the entire company? Seems extremely stupid to me.

∙ 16y agoIt was simply about the Soviet's most powerful boxer Ivan Drago (played by Dolph Lundgren) to come to American and challenge America's best boxers (the old standby plot of Russian against American). Seeing Drago on TV Apollo Creed is motivated by patriotism and also wanted to prove himself after five years in retirement to make a come back. Unfortunately, Apollo Creed was no match for the well trained Ivan Drago and although putting a good fight to the end was killed by one last blow from Drago.

∙ 11y agoRocky didn't decide to fight Apollo Creed. Apollo Creed decided to fight Rocky. He wanted to give a "no one" a chance to fight in the big battle to make it look like the american dream.
