∙ 13y agoRomeo wanted to be alone with Juliet so he could tell her how much he loved her. The last person he wanted around was that wisecracking foulmouthed joker Mercutio. (I'm sure he didn't want them making jokes about Rosaline in Juliet's hearing either)
Benvolio and Mercutio leave without Romeo because they are unable to find him. Romeo has wandered off to seek solitude after the party where he sees Juliet for the first time.
