To see Rosaline
Go to the Capulet feast to compare Rosaline to other women.
He is ok with the others going to the feast; he just doesn't want to go himself. He has misgivings; as Han Solo might say, he has "a bad feeling about this."
Romeo decides to go to the feast to see Rosaline, the girl he is infatuated with. He chooses to attend despite not being invited because he wants to catch a glimpse of her, not knowing that his life will change when he meets Juliet instead.
Romeo should attend the Capulet party because it presents an opportunity for him to see Rosaline, the woman he is infatuated with. Additionally, attending the party allows him to socialize, have fun, and potentially distract himself from his unrequited love for Rosaline.
Romeo is initially reluctant to attend the Capulet feast because he is feeling melancholic over his unreciprocated love for Rosaline. However, he eventually becomes eager to go after Mercutio persuades him to attend in hopes of seeing other beautiful women and moving on from Rosaline.
i hear dat romeo go wut ciara
Both of them were devasted that Romeo had to go. They wept.
Benvolio is fed up because his best mate Romeo is lovesick and complaining all the time that he is in love with a girl who doesn't love him back. Benvolio needs a way of putting Romeo off Rosaline so things can go back to normal.. So he tells Romeo that the Capulet feast will be the perfect opportunity to compare Rosaline with the other beautiful women of Verona and says Romeo's beloved Rosaline will look like a crow amongst swans. Romeo agrees to go with him, but only because Rosaline herself will be there.
His cousin Benvolio is the answer your teacher expects. And it's wrong. Benvolio wants Romeo to go to the party to look at other girls so he won't be moping about Rosaline. That does not persuade Romeo in the least. What persuades Romeo to go is that Rosaline will be there. He says so: "I'll go along, no such sight to be shown, but to rejoice in splendor of my own."
A servant who can't read asks Romeo to read the invitation to the Capulet party out loud so the servant knows who to invite. Romeo decides to go because Rosaline's name is on the invitation and he hopes to see her at the party.
