Pets would have required care and feeding and such, things that Sherlock Holmes might not have had time or inclinations for. Perhaps it is better that he did not have any as they might have died from neglect. Watson would've had to take care of him/her, grumbling all the way at Holmes and his lack of caring.

There is no definite answer to this question in any of the stories, but the best guess based on speculation would put Sherlock Holmes in his early twenties during this story.

When and where Sherlock Holmes was born and died?

Holmes's birthday is generally accepted as January 6th 1854, this date is not actually recorded in Sir Arthur's documents and he is believed to be British. There is no mention of Sherlock Holmes' birthplace in any of Conan Doyle's writings. We only know that Holmes came "up to London," which means he moved to London from elsewhere.

Was Sherlock Holmes a man or woman?

Sherlock Homes was a man. And, just make sure you know that Sherlock Holmes was not real life detective, only a well thought of character in a book. Any Human on Planet Earth could very well become as clever and mischievous as Sherlock Holmes, if only they would learn to use their full brain capacity....lol, which I'm sure is not possible for the human race.

How old is Sherlock Holmeses nan?

We are not told about any of Sherlock Holmes' female relatives except his grandmother, who was the sister of Vernet, the French artist (with no further details) if that is what you are asking about.

Did Sherlock Holmes have friends?

His brother, Mycroft. Sherlock Holmes had one brother. His name was Mycroft Holmes. He was smarter than Sherlock, but did not like moving around the way Sherlock always did. Sherlock Holmes's grandmother was the sister of the French painter, Vernet. Towards the beginning of 'The Adventure of the Norwood Builder' we find this passage: At the time of which I speak, Holmes had been back for some months, and I, at his request, had sold my practice and returned to share the old quarters in Baker Street. A young doctor, named Verner, had purchased my small Kensington practice, and given with astonishingly little demur the highest price that I ventured to ask - an incident which only explained itself some years later, when I found that Verner was a distant relation of Holmes', and that it was my friend who had really found the money.
