How did the Berlin blockade change relation between superpowers?

Relations were made a lot worse as Berlin was more obviously divided. There were increased tensions between Russia and America because Stalin didn't want to allow the East and the West to join together and was trying to stop that. When the Berlin Airlift happened. it made Communism look bad which Stalin didn't like.

Why did Joseph Stalin want to reach Berlin before the Americans?

I don't think there was a want to reach Berlin before America, I just think the Soveits pushed harder and faster and therefore did reach it first. To say Stalin wanted to would need some sort of conclusive evidence of this.

Why did Khrushchev decide to construct a wall to separate East Berlin from West Berlin?

After Wolrd War II, the Allied Forces broke Germany into occupation zones. Different countries would govern and denazify different zones while Germany remained one country. Russia had the eastern part of Germany which contained Berlin. Stalin controlled East Berlin, but West Berlin was divided between France, Britain and America. Stalin didn't want democratic influence in the middle of one of his communist puppet states. When his attempts to force the Western armies to leave failed, he surrounded West Berlin with a wall.

What message did Stalin want to send to the British and US governments?

what message did Stalin want to send out to US and British governments

Why were the Berlin Airlifts necessary?

Because Stalin (The leader of Soviet Union) is unhappy about dividing Berlin, the capital of Germany into 4 zones after the whole Germany (Excluding Berlin) is divided into 4 zones. (That gives you 8 zones in total.) as Berlin is part of the East Germany. As you know, Stalin is an autocratic person such that he did not want democracy to be practiced within Soviet occupation of East Germany as this would threatens his propaganda. With such arrangement, he see the need to force the Americans and its Allies (British and France) to leave West Berlin as soon as possible (Being 3 out of the 4 zones in Berlin.) . Thus he need to launch Berlin Blockade which blocks all communications effectively from East to West Berlin as well as East to West Germany. (Yes- It is confusing I know that!) When he (Stalin) blocks all communication, all food, water and medical supply that were essential after the war (World War 2) were blocked and none of these supply could enter West Berlin. This is definitely causing great starvations to not only the troops from Allies but also the civilians within West Berlin. Therefore, the West were determined to save millions of lives by Berlin Airlifts- To supply necessities through air dropping. (Aircrafts were flown into West Berlin and dropped all the foods, medicine etc onto floor.) With Berlin Airlift, Millions of lives were saved from starvations (As communist regime ended up with starvations, poverty etc.), autocratic and repressive governments. The West Berlin was not fall into East Germany hands and Stalin remove the blockade after he launched it for 10 months. Yes- If Stalin were to shot down the planes for supplying necessities , World War 3 might have already begun as the tension during that time was very high. The airlift to Berlin fron June 27, 1948 to May 12. 1949 was necessary to keep the German civilian populaton from starving and freezing to death. The only way into West Berlin was by air after the Russian shut down the road corridor from the Western occupied zones to West Berlin. Had it not been for the round the clock efforts of the US and British Air Forces to deliver food, fuel and other staples the population would have starved and frozen in the winter

Do people still want to have the Berlin wall up?

Nobody wants a permanent barrier between former West Berlin and its environs, but people do want small parts of the Berlin Wall to remain in place as a reminder of Berlin's history.

What were the conditions that were set up by the Yalta Conference?

Truthfully, the Yalta and Potsdam Conference basically let Stalin get away with what he wanted. He wanted to make the countries he defeated communist under the USSR Rule. Winston Churchill did not want to allow Stalin to do that. He warned Roosevelt of the consequences of letting Stalin have half of Germany and the rest of the nations he would conquer on the Eastern European Front. Roosevelt did not want to war with Stalin so he let him get away with it. Eisenhower kept Roosevelt's desire to let Stalin take Berlin at the end of the war. So those conferences created Eastern European communist bloc.
