Thomas Edison once said, and I quote, "A good idea is never lost. Even though its orginator or possessor may die without publicizing it, it will someday be reborn in the mind of another..." He may have wanted to improve it for many reasons. Most people believe he wanted it to last longer. Before he improved the light bulb it would only stay on for a short period of time.
