Walt Disney had long been interested in drawing, taking some art classes as a teen and providing political Cartoons for his high school's newspaper. After returning from France in 1919, he wanted to continue with his political cartoons but could only find work with an advertising agency. Walt next secured a job with the Kansas City Film Ad Company, where he created commercials using cardboard cutouts. This sparked his interest in animation, and Walt began borrowing equipment from work for his own experiments. He founded the Laugh-O-Gram Studio in 1922.
