George Washington became a patriot after he join the Virginia military during the French and Indian War, and he became A leader of the army. He was chosen to be the Commander of the Continental Army when the thirteen colonies decided to fight the British. In 1789 George Washington became a President of the United States of America(a wonderful patriot).

Grant decided not to return to Washington but to instead continue attacking Lee after the Battle of the Wilderness because the battle made him realize that Lee had very few reserves. He knew that if he continued to attack every day, he would eventually the Confederates down.

After a successful campain against the Washington, DC area, British forces decided to attack Baltimore, MD. Since Fort McHenry guarded the Baltimore harbor, the British would need to overcome the Fort's defenses to reach Baltimore and control its port. The attack on Fort McHenry was the execution of this battle campaign.
He led his army onto a peninsula where they later surrendered to the Colonial Army because they were surrounded.And he had a lack of weapons and money so they could not afford anything at all.

The name "West Virginia" was decided upon in November of 1861.

Not sure what the question means. Do you mean worst for the Union? That would be Virginia. It meant that Washington DC had enemy country starting just across the bridge. Or do you mean, a slave-state that decided NOT to secede? That would probably be Maryland, as it would have largely surrounded Washington. Or do you mean the new state of West Virginia? That one voted to secede from Virginia and the Confederacy, and made a (not entirely welcome) gift to the Union.
