When India was partitioned, The eastern wing of Pakistan was Bangladesh. It was very difficult to rule Bangladesh as Pakistanis would have to cross whole India to solve the disputes. Many problems raised among the eastern wing such as The Refugee Problem etc. It was impossible to rule the wing from Pakistan so east Pakistan (Bangladesh) was neglected. As this area wanted to progress and have good economy, they fought Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971 and defeated the western wing. The war broke on March 26, 1971 and the allied forces of Indian army and east Pakistani defeated West Pakistan on December 16, 1971. March 26 is celebrated as Independence Day of Bangladesh.
