∙ 12y agowilliam defeated king harold and his army. It was a fight that lasted for a day and the Normans were about to retreat as they thought William was dead. As the English chased after the normans William lefted up his helmet and shouted he was alive and at that point the Norman army turned and slaughtered the English army. Soon after William became King.
