The peroxide is a chemical which bleaches the teeth as well as gums if it comes in contact with them. You are not supposed to put the strips on your gums, but it will go away within a day.

Would it be ok if you use a crest white strips more than once every 3 months?

Honestly, I would just use it once a day because that is what I did before and it worked AMAZINGLY, but if you use it twice a day like I tried yesterday, I noticed that my teeth/gums are a little sensitive now....I'd say just go with once a day.

What is the most effective way to whiten your teeth if you have deteriorating gums on your front bottom teeth and can you still use white strips?

Why should you not brush teeth before using teeth whitening strips?

Actually, you should! Unless otherwise stated on the box, all of the whitening gels and strips that I know of you do in order to give the bleaching agent direct access to the enamel on your teeth allowing it to be the most effective. Below is a link for more information on bleaching gels.

Is it ok for a nine year old to use whitening strips?

Anyone can use it, as long as they have their adult teeth grown out. However, using whitening strips can cause sensitivity to the teeth, and sometimes to the gums as well. It can also create gum irritation. As long as you're aware and fine with some of the side effects that might occur, you should be able to put it on. However, you should go to a dentist first, and see what she/he tells you. There may be a specific whitening strip for your type of teeth, or they can tell you precisely whether or not it's good for your teeth to put whitening strips. In addition, there are other ways to whiten teeth. Fruits, such as starfruit can help in whitening teeth, brushing your teeth everyday, and I also heard that putting baking soda with your toothpaste works as well. On the other hand, again, for precise ways to whiten your teeth the fastest and safely, it's recommended to ask your dentist first.

Will expired Crest White Strips still work?

Not nearly as well. The active ingredient is hydrogen peroxide. It degrades to water and oxygen over time. After expiration, there is still active ingredient, but, depending on long they've been expired, the effect is diminished. http://www.3dwhite.com/teeth-whitening/3d-white-faq.aspx

What are some methods to use for teeth whitening?

There are many methods or tips to choose from such as teeth whitening strips, teeth whitening pens and teeth whitening gel. You can also avoid or lessen your consumption of any dark colored beverages like coffee, tea and sodas. Another option, if cost is a factor, is to rinse with Hydrogen peroxide and follow with your brush dipped in baking soda with tooth paste. Peroxide can be used as an oral rinse, but follow the instructions on the bottle label for the dilution ratio. In addition to its whitening properties, peroxide oxygenates which kills anaerobic bacteria. You'll end up with whiter teeth, healthier gums and fresher breath.
