The answer is in the way you view the world. If you view the world as hard ,unjustly ,full of problems and such and cling to these thoughts - you are bound by them and therefore you cannot live your life to the fullest and are unable to experience true freedom ,happiness and absence of fear and self. But if one learns how to twist his viewpoint just a little bit ,he can view the world in a completely different way and realise that no matter what happens to you in life... it doesn't really matter because it's already in the past and one can only learn from the past and should not allow it to haunt his present. Thus one achieves freedom from the material world and is no longer emotionally and psychologically affected by the world around him.
