God sent Jesus, his own son, to spread the word of God. Jesus was not sent to bare kids and marry. He was sent strictly to spread the word of God and preach as John the Baptist did. He was sent to tell others about God.

1 John 4:10 - In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. [NKJV]

"Propitiation:" "an appeasing; the means of appeasing."

When Adam and Eve rebelled against God in the Garden of Eden, God cast them out of the Garden and told them that because of their sin they would die. They died spiritually at that time and eventually they died physically. Every person born on the earth from that time on have been born spiritually dead, that is to say they do not know or recognize God as being God.

God created man for fellowship with Himself, but since man rebelled man was only destine for hell and not a life with God. The only way God could restore man to a righteous position and restore fellowship between Him and them was to send a Savior. This Savior had to be sin free so He could be a perfect sacrifice that God would except, because God is holy and can not look upon sin.

That Savior was Jesus Christ, His Son. Jesus lived a sinless life and when He went to the cross to pay for our sins (Die) God accepted Him as that sacrifice and so when a person accepts Christ as their Savior the righteousness of Jesus Christ is given to that person and they are made children of God. When God resurrected Jesus from the dead that was the sign that God had accepted Jesus' payment for our reconciliation and assures us resurrection on that coming resurrection day.

John 3:16-17New International Version (NIV)

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
