He didn't. The barons forced him to sign the Magna Carta, and he could no longer do whatever he wanted. The Magna Carta saved the people of England, because King John was no longer in control.

because it restricted all his power over the country and stated that he could only collect a certain amount of tax from his subjects but he also got angry because he was the king and people from a lower rank than him were making him do something against his will
