The Medieval people had pots to carry water from the river near their settlement to there homes if they did not have a well and back then not many people did. They also used pots to store food. Such as corn, wheat, and beans.

Cast iron is when literally the iron is cast into a form. A furnace was used to contain the heated charcoal, and bellows were used to make the fire hot enough to melt the iron. Then a mold was put in, usually made out of brick or clay, and the melted iron was poured into the mold, and let harden. This mold could have been to make a pot. But most medieval people did not use cast iron pots, because it was too expensive, but this is the process they would have used.
