HE DIDN'T GET KICKED OUT!!! HE LEFT!!! THE ONLY REASON WHY HE CAME WAS TO TRY AND TAKE ITACHI'S BODY!!! And of course it didn't work, so he left, found Sasuke, and voila! He didn't need the akatsuki anymore! The reason why the akatsuki hated him so much was because the penalty for betraying the akatsuki is death!
