I think they believed in it because Egyptians back then were very superstitious and religious. They believed in Egyptian gods and goddesses that we do not think exist, so they might believe in things in which we don't think exist. I am not very knowledgeable about this sort of thing, so please correct me if I'm wrong xD

∙ 12y agoWell, Tut's father - Akhenaten changed the religion from worshipping many gods to only worshipping one god, Aten. King Tut changed back the old religion, which the Egyptians appreciated. Other than that, King Tut - known as the Boy Pharaoh died at the young age of 18. Therefore, he did not get the chance to accomplish much in his life time. He is so famous today, because archaeologists found his tomb basically intact - which is rare.
