∙ 13y agoThey talk to them because Dally had first started talking to them, and made them mad by his disrespectful behaviour. But then, Dally leaves ( I forget y) and they realize that Ponyboy and Johnny aren't really like Dally.
Another reason is because Johnny is the one who told Dally to back off.
