Over Oil...It's just that simple folks.
The war against Iraq, known as the Gulf War, was precipitated by Iraq's invasion and occupation of its neighbor, Kuwait.
Bush sr. went to war with iraq when Saddam Hussein and the Iraqis invaded Kuwait in 1990.
Yes, he could not go to war with out congress approval. He could, but only for 90 days!
ya he did
Technically, the "war on terrorism" is not a war. Bush never declared a war and he never got the approval of congress to go into Iraq.
The reason for the troops in IraqPresident Bush wants troops in Iraq to help the Iraquis get their government to become a government, train the Iraqi army and the police to defend the country and to rid the country of insurgents. By helping Iraq to become a real country, it will become one less staging area for terrorists to launch attacks on people and societies, like the U.S., that the terrorists want to kill. By helping the Iraqi people, the U.S. is, hopefully, protecting itself from future attacks by the terrorists.-----Iraq was not considered a state sponsor of terrorism prior to our first invasion--the first American gulf war. In fact, we sold Hussein many of the weapons he used during his long war with Iran--a war we encouraged and supported (on both sides). When Saddam invaded Kuwait, we repelled his army. President Bush began planning the invasion of Iraq long before 9/11, which served as a useful pretext for unprovoked war. How many of the 9/11 terrorists were Iraqis? How many Iraqis were materially involved in 9/11? The answer is: Zero. President Bush wants troops in Iraq because it is a useful area for American military bases to protect oil shipments to the United States. There was never any reliable evidence Iraq intended to harm the US. The Iraq war and occupation is for American economic interests. I don't want to get political here, we just want to stick with the plain and simple facts. The US was able to sustain its economy through seven years of massive war deficits.
It depends what war with Iraq you are referring to. Iraq has fought numerous wars against a whole slew of adversaries. the Bush administration decided to go to war in 2003. The Multinational UN Coalition went to war with Iraq in 1991. The Iranians went to war against the Iraqi invasion of their country in 1980. The Israelis fought against Iraq in 1948 and against Iraqi foreign regiments in 1967 and 1973. The British and Free French invaded Iraq in 1941 to overthrow the pro-Axis government lead by the Golden Square.
country's response to president george w bush's 9/11 speech was we will go to war with them and we wil win
as a key adviser to president bush and the decision to go to war against Iraq. He is important in history because he led the U.S. into a war that didn't threaten the well-being of the U.S. He was a major facter in causing so many U.S. Soldiers to be killed.
yes and not just twin towers it was pentagon and a attempt assassination on bush but president bush did declare war on terrorism and and they first went to war with Taliban
There was a belief that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. There was also talk of biological weapons. Terrorists were thought to be hiding out in Iraq and Afghanistan and permitted free operations and perhaps even given aid . Most of this turned out to be untrue.
Reggie Bush goes by The President (after 'George W. Bush' (qv) ).
