The high priests Joseph Ciaphas and his father in-law Annas were NOT the legitimate High Priests they were vassal priests apponted by Rome. Secondly the Sadducees (their sect name) who controlled the temple, as well as the people, unlike their ecclesiastical opponents the Pharisees, they did not really believe the scriptures were the word of God. They did not believe in a physical literal resurrection, angels, a real devil, etc.! They had created Temple coins so that when people came with their atonement sacrifices they would reject them and make the people buy them from them and to do so they had to use Temple Money (which cost a good profit...the sons of Ciaphas were the treasurers) this is why Jesus overturned the money lenders tables saying they made the House of prayer into a den of thieves.
In other words if He was Messiah and was allowed to survive He would cause the demise of their good thing...fortunately they did not believe the scriptures and inadvertently they caused His crucifixion.
Jesus was not a priest, he was a carpenter
No Jesus was not a temple priest. After His death, burial, and resurrection He became the High Priest of God for mankind when they believe on Him. Jesus' priesthood is after the order of Melchizedek.
He was the high priest called Caiaphas.
The chief priest who had Jesus arrested was Caiaphas. He was the high priest during the time of Jesus' crucifixion and played a significant role in the events leading to Jesus' arrest and subsequent trial.
No, he was made a priest after the order of Melchisedec.
Demons fear Jesus and God, and people who love Jesus and God.
people may fear Jesus because they think that Jesus will punish if they sin. But Jesus is not a punishing person, he is ever merciful.
the priest does this because he wants to respect jesus
Jesus was presented in the temple to the priest Simon, as he was dedicated there.
well in a catholic church the eucharist is about Jesus Christ. we take the bread and wine to the priest and the priest is actually Jesus but in priest form and the priest (Jesus) converts the bread and wine into the body and blood of christ. when we take the body and blood, we are receiving the eucharist. eucharist has an H in it btw
Yes.Hebrews 4:14 - Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. [NKJV]
