The Romans did not think that Jesus was the Messiah or the son of God. They had to many of their own Gods and goddesses to worship.
messiah
The Devil did know that Jesus is the Messiah. But that is exactly what he is trying to get nonbelievers to think.
because may be 1) reveals by the Father that Jesus is the Messiah, 2) intuitively know that Jesus is the long waited Messiah, 3) Jesus told him he is the Messiah or show him some miracles to him and he instantly believe Jesus is the Messiah 4) he had a dream last night that today he will meet the Messiah 5) Philip believed the testament of John the baptist who said that Jesus is the Messiah, I think he is one of the most faithful disciple of John the baptist. Jesus saw his total faith that Philip believed that he is the Messiah, therefore Jesus choose him.
No Jesus was not "named" the messiah, he WAS the messiah, he was "named" Jesus.
Jesus Christ is the Messiah.
Yes, Jesus is the Messiah!
Many Jewish people believed that the Messiah would free them from the rule by Rome. Many accepted that Jesus was the Messiah, but none understood that he would free them from rule by Rome, not by military might or skill, but by freeing them from the fear of death.
Yes they did. After they had arrived at their destination they invited Jesus to eat with them and when He broke the bread and blessed it the travelers realised who their guest was. I think you can conclude from this that they believed Jesus is the Messiah
Yes, Mormons believe that Jesus is the Messiah.
The Jews do not recognize Jesus of Nazareth as the Messiah, they are still waiting for the Messiah to come.
For Christians, Jesus was their saviour. However, Jesus plays absolutely no role in Judaism. Of the Jews who think that Jesus actually existed as a real person, the majority think he would have been a false prophet at most. Additionally, the Christian concept of 'saviour' does not exist in Judaism.
In Judaism, the messiah hasn't came yet, so many people don't think it's anyone yet. Jews are still waiting for the arrival of the messiah. Long story short, no one yet. Although they also didn't want to believe that Jesus Is the messiah even though the proof was right there in the books of the Prophets who prophesied Jesus' coming.
