There was no Russian peasant revolt in 1971. The Soviet government had an iron grip on the country at the time. Any dissension was crushed immediately.
There was a Peasant revolt 1773-1775. It's also called the Pugachev's Rebellion or Cossack Rebellion. It was part of a series of rebellions that rocked Russia. The peasants were pretty much fed up with their lot in life. They were nothing more than property, no rights, their land being taken away, villages were given over to the control of the aristocracy, abuses rampant.
The peasants revolt was when the peasants got tired of how they were treated. They all got together and marched to London killing anybody who got in there way. When they got to London they stood outside Westminster abby.

It ended when a Revolt to overthrow the czars(russian leaders). After a successful revolt and overthrow the new government made a pact with Germant to end the war with Russia(not the whole war).
