i dont know help
Paul was the new name of Saul of Tarsus.
Jesus,Paul(Saul),and the other apostles of Jesus
Saul on the way to damascus to kill early christians , was struck by light and was blind for three days. Jesus said saul saul why do you persecuate me?. He then changed his ways and became the greatest missioary and wrote most of the books in the New Testament , incluiding one from jail. I doubt that Paul was literally struck by light from God. He probably just realized that it was not right to persecute Christians. Also, Paul changed religions in that he admitted uncircumcized Gentiles into the Christian community. This caused Christianity to be seen as an independent religion rather than a sect of Judaism. Paul, in his letters and in his actions, created the standard for Christianity that is still around today. Why did he do this? We will never know; we cannot enter his mind.

The Apostle: "Paul", formerly "Saul of Tarsus"!
Paul who as initially known as Saul. Spread the gospel as to establish the Church in the Roman Empire.
I believe Saul (later Paul, of course) clearly admits that he persecuted Christians prior to his conversion.
God commanded King Saul to completely destroy the Amalekites, including men, women, children, and animals, as punishment for their past sins against the Israelites. However, King Saul spared the Amalekite king Agag and the best of the livestock, which led to God rejecting Saul as king.
According to Luke, who travelled with Saul and wrote the book of Acts in the New Testament, in Acts 22 Saul addressed Jews and gave his defense for following Christ. Saul, also known a s Paul, was told by the risen Jesus that he would be the messenger to the Gentiles. Judaism was for the Jews and those who wished to be proselyted into the Jewish nation, but the prophets of Judaism told of a time when the Gentiles would be accepted by God fulfilling the promise made to Abraham, father of the Jews, that through his seed all nations would be blessed (Genesis 22:18).
