Why do you kick your dog for no reason? Although there may have been some sadistic slave owners, the majority took care of their "property." Think about it. Would a modern farmer deliberately damage his tractor? The slaveowner's livelihood depended on having healthy workers.

To a narcissist a slave has no right to exist unless in service to the owner The narcissist sees a slave as an object that is contemptable and deserving of punishment for not telling the master how high and powerful he or she is by comparison. The slave has to constantly behave in such a manner reminding the master how un worthy they are of being seen. If a slave asks for anything, like jesus on the cross asking for water he gets vinagar or insult to injury instead reminding him of what he is, nothing.
