The white men emotionally, physically, psychologically and verbally abused the slaves. Some were even so cruel to deliberately separate families, rape domestic slave women and then neglect the children, severely punish them for minor offences such as answering back to a master could mean death by drawing and quartering which is being pulled to pieces by horses. They tried to make slaves think they were worthless and deserved to be treated in the worst way. Especially in British colonies slaves were overworked and humiliated, underfed, tortured and slavery was until death. Slaves could not be married, be educated or could not even become Christians if they wanted to. It is therefore quite obvious why slaves wanted to kill their white masters after the abuse and torture they experienced for generations.
