Why did Bellatrix have a fake sword in DH?
Dumbledore left Harry a fake Gryffindor Sword in his Will knowing that the Ministry would not allow him to have it (the real one was later returned to him by Severus Snape). So when Voldemort took over the Ministry he ordered Bellatrix to place the fake sword (which he thought was real) inside her family vault. The reason for doing this is subjective, but it could be assumed that because the sword is one of the only objects capable of destroying a Horcrux, Voldemort wanted to ensure that no one had access to it who would use it to destroy them.While in Malfoy Manor, Bellatrix was in possession of the actual Gryffindor Sword but was tricked quite miraculously by a tortured Hermione into thinking that it was fake, and with a little help from a Gringott's Goblin who later agreed to help the trio in infiltrating the bank in exchange for the sword as it was designed by goblins and goblins believe that once a person dies, the item returns to the possession of the goblins who made it.Note: Dumbledore didn't own the Sword, so his Will was obviously invalid; it was nothing but a hint to Harry.Tom Riddle asked her to keep it in her safe in Gringotts.

Snape sits next to Voldemort as he was instructed, Bellatrix would have said anything because Snape killed Dumbledore which probably proved his loyalty to Voldemort in her eyes - even if it was fake. She also didn't want to comment in case she angered Voldemort.
