'Somali' is an adjective meaning 'belonging to Somalia'. The country of Somalia is a recognised country, but it is in bad shape financially and politically. Somaliland is a breakaway region of Somalia which calls itself a country, though it is not internationally recognised. It is doing rather better then the rest of Somalia!
