When the speedometer stops working and the ABS or traction disabled light comes on in a vehicle it indicates that the vehicle's ABS system is faulty. This could be indicative of a faulty wheel sensor or the ABS tracking system itself.
what about it? if its on, your traction control is on & working. if its not, then its not!!
If the speedometer and abs light are not working then you have a speed sensor problem. If the speedometer or odometer are not working then you will need to take it to the dealership and have them send it off for repair.
There is a problem with the ABS system. It is part of Traction Control. If the ABS is not working then the Traction Control is not working. You still have standard braking but probably no ABS. Have this checked by a professional, as it can be many things.
Nope, bet it was the other way around... Your speedometer stopped working and your check engine light came on. A broken speedometer (don't know what car so I can't pinpoint it) will cause a whole bunch of codes.
Possible abs sensor failure.
That your vehicle is losing traction and your Traction Control System (TCS) is working to prevent that.
If the ABS light is flashing it means the system is malfunctioning but still working. The dash light behind the speedometer is burnt out.
the speedometer on my 97 toyota camary stopped working and the check engine light came on why
It is supposed to. ETS (Enhanced Traction System) is turned on and off with that switch. Leave it on. The system is on and working when the light is off.It is supposed to. On my VW Bug, all the idiot lights are laid out around the circular speedometer. It is in the upper left hand side of the circle, around the 11:00 position if you consider the speedometer a clock.
When the traction light is on you have the traction control turned on in your vehicle and traction control is activated. Traction control is applying brakes to a wheel that losing traction.
Your speed sensor probably broke and needs to be replaced. If the car can't determine it's speed, then it may automatically disable the cruise control.
